iSyncing a Nokia 6300
Having changed from a Sony Ericsson k750i to a Nokia 6300, I was amazed that the Nokia did not support the wholesale copying of my phonebook by Bluetooth, so I had to find another way round. This was to set up a temporary account on my Mac and use iSync to synchronise the two bluetooth phones. (It also has the benefit of making a backup copy of my phonebook on the Mac).
Unfortunately, the Nokia 6300 is too new to be listed as supported by iSync, but Koos Kaspers has a post on how to modify the iSync files to include it in the list of supported phones. This worked a treat, and my phonebook was copied over in no time at all.
Hi, I just got my 6300 today, and I found this little hack elsewhere and it worked a treat. I have a small issue though: I can send text messages from Address Book, but for some reason incoming texts do not display on my computer. Any ideas?
Brad, not tried sending texts from Address Book (do you mean Address Book on Mac OS X?), but I know that incoming texts do not display on my TomTom.
Yeah I meant in OSX, but I have now discovered that Address Book, like iSync, does not support the 6300 yet. Given time, I’m sure Apple will upgrade it or Nokia will provide a plug-in. However, also like iSync, there is a way around it, but it means buying a plug-in from a 3rd party.

Before I buy it, I want to make sure it actually does what I want it to. I have emailed them, but no response as yet.
Hi Brad, any feedback from novamedia yet? thanks.
